9 months old today!

Look how beautiful and bright my sweet little 9 month old daughter is! Wow, I can't believe that she is 9 months old today. We went to the doctor for her check up and she is doing really, really well! I love my sweet Jasmine...she does so many wonderful things for our family. She sure does "Jazz" up our lives. I think that she has decided that crawling is for babies, and she doesn't think she wants to be one of those. She wants to catch right up to her big brother and sister. No, she isn't walking yet, but she sure wishes that she could. She is getting so she can push her little hippo and walk with it all by herself. She doesn't crawl, but she scoots on her bottom to get to where she needs to go. She pulled herself up to standing all by herself a couple weeks ago.
I was impressed with her Stats at the doctor today...
Head: 17 3/4 inches, 81%
Weight: 19 lbs 2 oz, 57%
Height: 29 3/4 inches, 99%
Baby BMI: 11%
(My Doctor said this was like the baby BMI, so I guess it is like where you are at according to your height and weight if you put it all together...you all know about BMI, I don't need to explain, I just thought it was kind of neat to see because I had never seen it before)!
She got her flu shot today and did really well with it. Jasmine has 4 teeth up top now, and 2 on the bottom, with a couple more on the way I think. All in all she is healthy and well and a joy to have in our family!

Hike to Alberta Falls

We went on a beautiful hike to Alberta Falls. It was a mile up and then a mile back down. The kids did such a great job, they never asked to be carried, and were just great little hikers. In fact, they wanted to keep on hiking, but we had to dodge the bad weather. Actually Matt was such a good Daddy. The weather was starting to get questionable, and up in the mountains the weather changes so fast. We parked up by Bear Lake because there was no parking left in the Glacier Falls parking lot. So, this made our hike longer, but on our hike you could head back to the Falls parking lot, and it was downhill, and the way back up to our car was uphill. It was also .2 of a mile less to go back to the other parking lot. So as soon as the weather started to look bad, Matt left me with the three kids. Everyone that hiked past me thought I was a real trooper woman, but in reality my sweet husband booked it uphill all the way back to our car, so that he could drive back down to the other parking lot so that we hopefully wouldn't get poured on. It all worked out so perfect. Matt got back to the parking lot like 3 minutes before us and as soon as we got to the car door handle, it started raining, and snowing, and a freezing gust of wind. It didn't last long, but we sure were glad that we weren't hiking to our car still.

It was so incredibly beautiful on our hike. I kept thinking I was in a dream. I mentioned that I loved fall. Well, it couldn't have been any more perfect because I was with my sweet family, we had no distractions (except for the big rocks that we had to keep climbing, and that was okay), and it smelled oh so yummy. I not only love the colors that fall brings, but oh the smell, I just kept sniffing it in and taking in all the beauty that surrounded me. We had a great time.

More of the beauty of fall..

We had another great day in Estes Park. We drove up Trail Ridge road to the tippy top of the mountain. It was a fun drive, we got to see all of the beautiful trees changing, a perscribed forest fire, and then above treeline we got to see SNOW! The kids were so excited. When we got up to the top of the mountain it looked like it was going to storm. We were going to go on the little hike up to the top of the mountain, but since there was a strom threatening we decided not to, and we were glad we didn't because it started thundering, and then snowing just a few minutes later.
The kids were having a blast trying to catch the snow with their mouths, and Jasmine was pretty intrigued by it too. Matt had to go to Berthoud to do some work in the afternoon so the kids and I had fun hanging out in the hotel. We watched some TV, ate some snacks, and then headed off to the pool. I think we might be crazy, but all Landon could say was, "Can we please go back to that cold pool." So I braved the cold with the 3 kids all by myself and we had a great time! Jasmine and I hung out in the hot tub. Landon has really started swimming well with his water wings and so he swam in the "cold pool", and Brooklyn was cleaning out all of the pine needles out of the "cold pool", and kept jumping back and forth bewtween the two. When Matt got back we decided to use the grill and grill up some steak, hamburgers, corn on the cob, and portobello mushrooms! It was a great day :)

Estes Park

We have been having a great time here at Estes Park. There is always so much to do and see here. It is so BEAUTIFUL here. I would have to say that Fall is my most favorite time of the year. I love all of the seasons and I am so greatful that there are different seasons, I love that in Colorado there are 4 different seasons and you can tell them all apart! I love Fall because I love all of the different colors of the trees. I love that it means pumpkins..it is the start of the Holiday season. Okay, well it is the beginning of what means it will soon be Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. I love this time of the year because it means you can cook up some hot cocoa and sit by the fire playing games with the family or reading a book. I love it because to me Fall means family. It is time to spend together enjoying all of the holidays and wearing comfy clothes. It also is the season that Matt and I got married in. I just love fall and I love Estes Park in the fall. Thanks Mandy for letting us use your Dads time share so that we could have fun as a family and enjoy my favorite time of the year!

We also have a unheated, outdoor pool that is still open, and a hot tub to use here at Crags Lodge. The kids really wanted to go swimming and so we decided that we could go and at least go in the hot tub. Well they had both Matt and I jump in the pool before we could get in the hot tub, and lets just say BRRR! It was like jumping in an ice bath. It was warmer outside than in the pool. But we had a lot of fun, and spent most of the time in the hot tub looking at the beautiful scenery!

Great-Grandma Hartmans

We decided to go and visit my Grandma Hartman. She lives in Wyoming, it takes about 3 hours to get there from our house. Well give or take depending on how many times you have to stop. It took longer on the way up, but on the way back, it was a little shorter. I took the 3 kids by myself and did it all in one day. I think next time I would have stayed an extra day, but it wasn't so bad. I had a lot of fun. It was fun to see the kids play in her BEAUTIFUL yard. It reminded me of when I was a kid, they played on all the same things I did when I was little. She is quite the gardener. She has flowers in pots all over her yard and takes such good care of her yard, and her house. It was so fun to see what she had done since I had been there last. Which, I am sad to say was like when Landon was 6 weeks old. We kept saying we were going to go, so this time I decided to plan a day and just do it. Next time it better be much shorter in between trips. The inside of her house looks so beautiful also. It looks like you are walking into a magazine, everything is in its place and she has taken so much time and thought to all of her decorating. I hope that one day, when my kids are all grown, my house can be the same way, and my yard too :)

My aunt also lives in town and so we got to go and see her too, along with my cousin Barry. The kids had so much fun playing with everyone. Barry took them on rides on their 4-wheeler in their back yard. That was so cute to watch. We also got to go to the video store that my aunt works at and have slushies and watch a little bit of a show. It was a fun, fast, trip.

Piggy-Tails!!!

I decided to try and put pig tails in Jasmines hair a couple weeks ago, 7 1/2 months old, and she had enough hair. It looked so stink'n cute! It makes her look older, especially now that she has two upper teeth to go along with it.
