Father's Day Camp Trip!

We went camping on Father's Day weekend. Matt, Landon, Brooklyn, Jasmine, and I all went up on Friday and set up our camp. The kids were SO excited to go camping! I was excited to spend some quality time together as well. It seemed like it was a busy camp trip because Jasmine is at the age where it is still hard to walk on the crooked ground, so she would fall down and get her hands dirty...and well she doesn't like dirty hands! Then you have to worry about her falling in the fire and what not, and the nights were VERY cold. Luckily Matt looked it up before hand and we packed a lot of warm clothes for everyone...but still 30 is pretty darn cold at night! We got a new tent...I call it our mansion. It is a 12 person tent, with a dome light, and "automatic" roll up windows. It is really perfect for our family and we all LOVED it! We decided this is our vacation for the summer, so we are hoping to make it camping a few more times.

My Dad and Mandy came up on Saturday morning and set up camp next to us. We went fishing, and Landon thought that since Daddy and Grandpa were in the water he could walk in too. He didn't realized they had on waders...so he ended up in the lake in just his underwear. I think the grossest thing was when Landon came out and we had to pull 6 leeches out of him. YUCK! (He was in boy heavennthough).

Brooklyn had fun walking around the lake and taking Mandy's dogs on a walk. Jasmine had fun trying to eat the M and M's through the zip lock baggie. Jasmine is a candy'acholic.

We had a better night sleep the second night, however, it was very windy...but we were safe in our tent. The next morning we got up and drove over to go fishing again, but it was too windy for the kids and the flyfisherman. We decided to go shoot the guns instead. The kids thought it was great because they got to ride in the back of Grandpa's pick up truck since we were out on the dirt road and up in the moutains. Jasmine wanted to ride in the back so badly, that I decided to sit back with her and enjoy the ride. It was quite fun. The boy's started shooting their guns at some pop cans, and the girls went on a walk, but it didn't last long until the rain came and we had to drive back to our campground. We got back and packed eveything. It was going great until we had just pulled the rain tarp off the tent and were packing everything in the car and the rain started POORING and HAILING! Luckly the kids were already in the car, and most of our stuff. We were just SOAKING and had to reset up the tent and clean it and dry it out when we got home.

It was very nice to be up in the mountains. I am so blessed to have been able to spend Father's Day, not only with the Father of my kids, but my Dad as well. I am so greatful for both of them and the influence they have been on me and my kids lives. I love you both!

It sounds like you guys had so much fun. My kids love to go camping, but it's not my favorite. I'm sure they all had a blast- and what great memories. I wish we were where could go camping together :(
