More of the beauty of fall..

We had another great day in Estes Park. We drove up Trail Ridge road to the tippy top of the mountain. It was a fun drive, we got to see all of the beautiful trees changing, a perscribed forest fire, and then above treeline we got to see SNOW! The kids were so excited. When we got up to the top of the mountain it looked like it was going to storm. We were going to go on the little hike up to the top of the mountain, but since there was a strom threatening we decided not to, and we were glad we didn't because it started thundering, and then snowing just a few minutes later.
The kids were having a blast trying to catch the snow with their mouths, and Jasmine was pretty intrigued by it too. Matt had to go to Berthoud to do some work in the afternoon so the kids and I had fun hanging out in the hotel. We watched some TV, ate some snacks, and then headed off to the pool. I think we might be crazy, but all Landon could say was, "Can we please go back to that cold pool." So I braved the cold with the 3 kids all by myself and we had a great time! Jasmine and I hung out in the hot tub. Landon has really started swimming well with his water wings and so he swam in the "cold pool", and Brooklyn was cleaning out all of the pine needles out of the "cold pool", and kept jumping back and forth bewtween the two. When Matt got back we decided to use the grill and grill up some steak, hamburgers, corn on the cob, and portobello mushrooms! It was a great day :)

Estes Park

We have been having a great time here at Estes Park. There is always so much to do and see here. It is so BEAUTIFUL here. I would have to say that Fall is my most favorite time of the year. I love all of the seasons and I am so greatful that there are different seasons, I love that in Colorado there are 4 different seasons and you can tell them all apart! I love Fall because I love all of the different colors of the trees. I love that it means pumpkins..it is the start of the Holiday season. Okay, well it is the beginning of what means it will soon be Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas. I love this time of the year because it means you can cook up some hot cocoa and sit by the fire playing games with the family or reading a book. I love it because to me Fall means family. It is time to spend together enjoying all of the holidays and wearing comfy clothes. It also is the season that Matt and I got married in. I just love fall and I love Estes Park in the fall. Thanks Mandy for letting us use your Dads time share so that we could have fun as a family and enjoy my favorite time of the year!

We also have a unheated, outdoor pool that is still open, and a hot tub to use here at Crags Lodge. The kids really wanted to go swimming and so we decided that we could go and at least go in the hot tub. Well they had both Matt and I jump in the pool before we could get in the hot tub, and lets just say BRRR! It was like jumping in an ice bath. It was warmer outside than in the pool. But we had a lot of fun, and spent most of the time in the hot tub looking at the beautiful scenery!

Great-Grandma Hartmans

We decided to go and visit my Grandma Hartman. She lives in Wyoming, it takes about 3 hours to get there from our house. Well give or take depending on how many times you have to stop. It took longer on the way up, but on the way back, it was a little shorter. I took the 3 kids by myself and did it all in one day. I think next time I would have stayed an extra day, but it wasn't so bad. I had a lot of fun. It was fun to see the kids play in her BEAUTIFUL yard. It reminded me of when I was a kid, they played on all the same things I did when I was little. She is quite the gardener. She has flowers in pots all over her yard and takes such good care of her yard, and her house. It was so fun to see what she had done since I had been there last. Which, I am sad to say was like when Landon was 6 weeks old. We kept saying we were going to go, so this time I decided to plan a day and just do it. Next time it better be much shorter in between trips. The inside of her house looks so beautiful also. It looks like you are walking into a magazine, everything is in its place and she has taken so much time and thought to all of her decorating. I hope that one day, when my kids are all grown, my house can be the same way, and my yard too :)

My aunt also lives in town and so we got to go and see her too, along with my cousin Barry. The kids had so much fun playing with everyone. Barry took them on rides on their 4-wheeler in their back yard. That was so cute to watch. We also got to go to the video store that my aunt works at and have slushies and watch a little bit of a show. It was a fun, fast, trip.

Piggy-Tails!!!

I decided to try and put pig tails in Jasmines hair a couple weeks ago, 7 1/2 months old, and she had enough hair. It looked so stink'n cute! It makes her look older, especially now that she has two upper teeth to go along with it.

I have been busy...

So, I have been busy cleaning out the garage and getting the yard all ready for the fall. Today I started to stain our fence...it has been partially stained, but was suppose to be completely stained like 60 days after completion...well that didn't happen, but we did get the parts stained that made it look like it was done. However, I am tired of having the finishing things in our yard not finished, so I have been trying to get them done. Landon and Brooklyn are all about the "painting the fence" thing. We started and then ran out of stain, and had to go to soccer practice. When we got back they were both like, can we go paint some more. So, I guess it wasn't so bad that it has taken us so long to get around to it, because now they can enjoy helping out!

However....my house is a complete disaster! I was just feeling like I was getting it to where I was "all caught up" with it and in a good routine, when I decided to start this big organizing rampage that I have been needing to do forever. It started with the toys in the basement..which I am still in the middle of. Then since the weather was so nice, I though I better get the things that I need nice weather for done, so I started on that, well our garage was a disaster, it was Matt's domain, and needless to say it never got done, so I started it on Tuesday, and finished it up on Wednesday (Matt did help me with it on Wed). Then moved on to the yard today, and have totally neglected the rest of my house...laundry, vacuuming, you know pretty much everything, so I guess that I will have to work on that once we complete the fence, hopefully tomorrow!

Well, I am going to go to bed now, but just thought I would post a little of what I have been up to this week. Hope everyone is doing well!

Life

Okay, so I have been a very bad blogger lately. I haven't posted in quite some time. I seems like that is the typical thing for me, but I would like to get better at it. I have so many pictures and things that I have taken and thought, oh that will make a good blog picture. Well, I guess at least I have some cute pictures and videos to look at, even if I don't get them posted.

Life just seems to be super busy lately. I think that is just the way it goes when you grow up and have all of the responsibilities of an adult. I have been doing a lot of thinking lately, just about life in general. I have decided that life is as good as you make it. I think that attitude has everything to do with life. Growing up, I was given a lot of trials, and at that time I didn't think that much about them. My Mom always said, I just always rolled with the punches. I think that is just the theme of my life. I mean I know that everyone is given trials, but I just always try and remember that my trials are so little compared to many peoples trials in their lives. Someone always has it worse, or harder. My motto since I was little....SMILE ALWAYS!

I love being a mother and wife! I just can't believe how very blessed I am to have 3 beautiful children that I love and adore and that love and adore me. I wish I could say that I am a super mom, but I am not. I try, but I know that I could always be doing more for them. I think it is sometimes hard to try and find a balance between all the responsibilities that need to get done around the house and time spent with children. I wish that I could order up more time!

It is funny how differently I look at life now, as opposed to when I first got married. I know people always say that and you are like ya right, but it is true. Actually my Mom saw this thing on the morning show about how you aren't able to make "adult" decisions until the age of 25, because your brain isn't fully developed until then or something like that. Good thing I am 25 now! I guess me and my 25 year old brain have a different perspective on life now, and I wouldn't change any of the decisions I made before now. I am so happy that I got married when I did to my wonderful hubby. I am so glad that we decided not to wait very long before we had kids. I feel like I am now just learning to fully and truly embrace motherhood, and I love it. Of course like anything, it has its moments, when you are so completely tired and exhausted, but all of the other moments outweigh that. I sometimes wish that I didn't have to do anything else and that I could just play with my kids and hold them and love them all day. It is so fun watch them all grow up, but at the same time, I wish I could keep them little forever.

I never thought that when I got married my husband and his twin would be starting up their own business, Michel Realty, and that job stability wouldn't be there. This is probably my biggest trial now. It is so stressful to try and juggle all the finances and time when starting up a business. I know that sometimes my family thinks that Matt is crazy and that he should just go and get a "normal" job, and I will have to admit, sometimes I wish that was the case, but I know how much it means to both Matt and Martin that they do this and they do it well. I know that despite all the stress that this brings, if it turns out they way they have it planned, it will be all worth it. I know that they both want their families to succeed and they want to be able to provide for us, so that is why they are doing this, not to try and make us fail. With big risks, come big rewards (at least we hope so anyway)!

I love my Heavenly Father. I know that he loves me. I know that the gospel is true. I know that everyone experiences different trials and different joys in their lives, but these are all because of a Father in Heaven who loves us and wants us to learn and grow. I hope and pray that I can be a good example to my children and all of those around me. That one day my Father in Heaven can look me in the eye and say that he is proud of me and my choices. I have always been one who just wants to make everyone happy. Sometimes I am a little bit hard on myself because I feel like I should be able to do everything perfectly, but I am so not perfect. I have learned that I can't please everyone. Not everyone thinks that my choices are the best choices. Some people think that it is crazy that I got married so young, have 3 children, never finished college and that my husband quit his chemistry profession to do real estate, but I think it is marvelous! Sometimes you just have to trust in the Lord and do your part as well as you can and just say Jesus take the wheel.
